Protect your vehicle’s rear bumper deck from scratches and scuffs with our precision-cut PPF. Our guide will assist you in applying the film smoothly and effectively.
Pre-Installation Checklist:
Ensure a clean and controlled environment to prevent dust and debris from affecting the installation process. Have your squeegee, clean microfiber cloths, and an application solution ready.Installation Steps:
- Surface Preparation: Clean the rear bumper deck area thoroughly to remove all dirt, wax, and oils. For the best results, use an isopropyl alcohol mixture to ensure a clean surface.
- Dry Fit the Film: Align the PPF with the rear bumper deck, confirming that it fits all contours and edges. This is the time to make any adjustments or trims to the film.
- Wet Application: Prepare a soapy water solution and spray both the film’s adhesive side and the bumper surface liberally. This helps in positioning the film without it sticking immediately.
- Apply the Film: Start from one end and carefully apply the film to the bumper deck, smoothing it out as you go. The soapy solution will allow you to slide and reposition the film as necessary.
- Squeegee Out the Water: Once positioned, use a squeegee to gently work out the soapy water from underneath the film. Start from the center and move outward to avoid creases and air bubbles.
- Final Adjustments: If any bubbles remain, you can gently lift the film to release them and then lay the film back down, squeegeeing out the air and water.
- Seal the Edges: Apply mild heat with a heat gun or hairdryer to secure the film’s edges. This also helps the PPF conform to any curved surfaces on the bumper.
Note: We recommend waiting at least 48 hours before washing or applying any pressure to the area to ensure the film has properly adhered to the bumper deck.
