Preparation Steps:
Start by creating a clean, dust-free environment. Gather all necessary tools such as a squeegee, soapy water solution in a spray bottle, and clean, dry microfiber cloths.
Installation Process:
- Clean the Areas: Thoroughly wash the A-Pillar and Rear Quarter Panel areas. Use a clay bar for deep cleaning, followed by an alcohol-based cleaner to ensure a residue-free surface.
- Dry Fitting: Before removing the backing, position the PPF over each area to ensure a perfect fit. Make note of alignment points and how the film will lay.
- Apply Soapy Solution: Liberally spray the soapy solution on the adhesive side of the film and the corresponding vehicle areas. This allows for repositioning the film during installation.
- Position and Adhere the Film: Carefully place the PPF on the A-Pillars and Rear Quarter Panels. Start from one end, using a squeegee to gently smooth the film onto the surface and eliminate any bubbles.
- Squeegee Out Excess Water: Methodically work the squeegee from the center outwards to push out any trapped water and air, ensuring a firm adhesion and no wrinkles or bubbles.
- Trim Excess Film: If necessary, trim any excess material carefully with a precision blade, taking care not to damage the vehicle’s paint.
- Final Heating and Curing: Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently warm the film, aiding in conforming to the contours of the A-Pillars and Rear Quarter Panels. Allow the film to cure for the recommended time.
