Getting Started:
Set yourself up for success by preparing your workspace. Gather your installation tools, such as a squeegee, a clean spray bottle, and a lint-free cloth to ensure a smooth process.
Installation Instructions:
- Prepare the Rear Bar: Clean the area thoroughly with a dedicated automotive cleaner to remove all dirt and oils. Follow up with an isopropyl alcohol wipe for a completely clean surface.
- Align the PPF: Position the Paint Protection Film over the rear bar, ensuring it aligns correctly with the shape and edges. Use masking tape to hold it in place temporarily if needed.
- Wet Application Technique: Spray the adhesive side of the PPF and the rear bar surface with a soapy water solution, which will allow for repositioning the film during the application.
- Adhere the Film: Begin applying the film from one end, using a squeegee to smooth the film onto the surface, ensuring there are no air pockets or wrinkles.
- Work Out the Solution: Carefully work the squeegee over the film from the center outwards to remove the soapy solution and any air bubbles trapped underneath.
- Detail the Edges: If the PPF extends beyond the edges of the rear bar, trim the excess material carefully, making sure not to damage the vehicle’s paintwork.
- Cure and Set: Once in place, apply a gentle amount of heat to help the film’s adhesive bond to the rear bar and to eliminate any minor imperfections.
